About Me

Hey there. I'm Dickson, computer scientist, an avid reader and an occasional speaker. My day doesn't begin until my first cup of freshly brewed coffee from a french press.

After graduating with a degree inn Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, I joined GovTech in 2018 as a software engineer on the MyCareersFuture team. I primarily work with TypeScript, Node.js and React. I also enjoy programming with Python because of its expressiveness, as well as the productivity and safety that the Rust language provides.

I'm also interested in accessibility, human centered computing and universal design. As a legally blind individual, these topics affect me profoundly in everyday life. I believe Each of us plays an important role in society. Designing products and services for a diverse audience makes it easier to use for everyone, and is also the source of many innovations and conveniences like the telephone, text to speech and optical character recognition.

I've always wanted to experiment with different writing styles, hence this blog. I plan to write about my personal projects, experiences with various technologies and maybe even the occasional book review.
